Best NY sportsbooks: all 8 New York betting sites and apps, ranked

Eight New York betting sites are live in October 2026, and two of them own the market. FanDuel and DraftKings took 76% of New York’s $2.55 billion in 2025 sports betting revenue, according to New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC) figures reported by trade press.

The other six still matter. Fanatics pays FanCash on every bet, Caesars starts you with a $1 bet, BetRivers streams games, and theScore Bet builds live scores and stats into its betting app. Here’s who wins at what.

Fanatics ranks third. It’s now NY’s No. 3 book by handle, ahead of BetMGM and Caesars in August 2026, and its FanCash rewards pay back on every bet rather than only on the welcome offer.

Caesars beats BetMGM because BetMGM has no welcome bonus for New Yorkers right now. BetMGM keeps fifth place on banking speed and the value of BetMGM Rewards.

FanDuel Sportsbook New York: the market leader, and it isn’t close on revenue

FanDuel launched on day one of New York mobile betting, Jan. 8, 2022, and led the state on revenue in 2025. Owned by Flutter Entertainment, it posted $1.10 billion in NY gross gaming revenue in 2025, per NYSGC data, on $9.44 billion in handle.

The app is the reason. It holds a 4.8 App Store rating from 2.3 million reviews and 4.6 on Android, and its Same Game Parlay and SGPX builder sets the standard. Daily odds boosts and the FanDuel Players Club, which pays 5 FanDuel Points per $1 wagered, keep existing customers busy.

Banking is the widest in the state: PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Play+ and PayNearMe all work.

DraftKings NY betting app: the parlay builder’s choice

DraftKings also launched on Jan. 8, 2022, and in August 2026 it overtook FanDuel on NY handle: $614.0 million against $599.6 million, according to NYSGC. It took $854.6 million in 2025 revenue.

DraftKings is built for parlay bettors. Same Game Parlays, SGPx, progressive parlays (which still pay if one leg misses) and Flash Bet for fast in-play markets set it apart. Its 4.8 App Store rating comes from 1.3 million reviews.

Dynasty Rewards adds five tiers, from Bronze to Onyx, and Crowns you can turn into bonus bets.

Fanatics Sportsbook for New Yorkers: FanCash on every bet

Fanatics arrived on Feb. 29, 2024, taking over the PointsBet NY business. It climbed fast: in August 2026 it handled $213.2 million and earned $18.8 million in revenue, per NYSGC, the third-biggest NY book on both counts.

Its edge is FanCash. You earn it on every bet, at a higher rate on longer odds, and redeem it 1:1 for bonus bets or Fanatics merchandise through Fanatics ONE. That makes it the strongest everyday rewards program for fans of NY teams.

The app scores 4.8 on both iOS (287,000 reviews) and Android, with a Same Game Parlay builder and daily odds boosts. Deposits run through debit cards, PayPal, Venmo and bank transfer.

Caesars Sportsbook NY: the cheapest way in

Caesars launched Jan. 8, 2022. Its NY licensee is American Wagering, Inc., doing business as William Hill and Caesars Sportsbook. In 2025 it took $1.75 billion in NY bets and $143.3 million in revenue, according to NYSGC.

Caesars Rewards is the draw for anyone who travels. Straight bets earn up to 10 Reward Credits per $100 and parlays up to 20, redeemable for hotel stays, dining and shows. Banking is broad too: Amex, Discover, Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo and cash at a casino cage.

BetMGM’s New York app: no welcome bonus, but strong rewards

BetMGM went live on Jan. 17, 2022. It’s a joint venture of MGM Resorts International and Entain, and it handled $119.9 million in NY bets in August 2026, per NYSGC.

Be clear on this: BetMGM has no welcome bonus in New York right now. Its national offers exclude the state, so New Yorkers get ongoing promotions and BetMGM Rewards only.

That program still has value. Points and tier credits earned on bets redeem for bonus bets and MGM Resorts experiences. BetMGM also has the best banking menu for heavy bettors, with Amex, PayPal, Play+ and cash at the cage, and debit card withdrawals reported as instant.

BetRivers, theScore Bet and Bally Bet

BetRivers (Rush Street Interactive NY, LLC) launched Jan. 8, 2022 and holds a 4.9 App Store rating, the highest in NY. It offers a Second Chance Bet up to $100 in New York and an 11-tier iRush Rewards program.

theScore Bet (Penn Sports Interactive, LLC) replaced ESPN Bet in December 2025. It has no confirmed New York welcome offer right now; new customers should check the theScore Bet app for current NY promotions.

Bally Bet launched in July 2022 and is NY’s smallest book, with $10.4 million in August 2026 handle. Its offer: Bet $10, Get $50 in Bonus Bets, no Promo Code needed.

From 4 upstate casinos to $26 billion a year: mobile betting’s NY history

New York’s sports betting story starts in 2019, when retail sportsbooks opened at the four upstate commercial casinos. Bettors had to place their bets in person, at the casino.

Mobile betting arrived on Jan. 8, 2022. Caesars, DraftKings, FanDuel and BetRivers went live that day, and BetMGM joined on Jan. 17. Resorts World Bet followed in March 2022 and Bally Bet in July 2022.

The roster has churned since. WynnBet left in 2024, and its license slot became ESPN Bet that September. PointsBet became Fanatics in February 2024. Resorts World Bet shut down in June 2025, and ESPN Bet was rebranded as theScore Bet in December 2025.

The money kept growing. New York’s mobile handle hit $26.3 billion in 2025, up 15.8% on the year, with $2.55 billion in revenue and about $1.32 billion in state tax.

Empire State betting rules: the 51% tax, 21+ and the college rules

The tax. New York taxes mobile sportsbook revenue at 51%, one of the highest rates in the country, according to the NYSGC sports wagering page. The money funds education aid, plus $5 million a year for youth sports and $6 million for problem gambling programs. With 51 cents of every revenue dollar going to the state, operators have less to spend on promotions, which is why NY offers often trail other states. BetRivers, for example, offers up to $100 here and up to $500 elsewhere.

Age and location. You must be 21 or older under Racing, Pari-Mutuel Wagering and Breeding Law §1367, and you must be physically in New York when you bet. Residents of other states can bet while they’re here.

College betting. You can’t bet on any New York college team, wherever it plays. College player props are banned outright. You can bet on tournament games, such as March Madness, as long as no New York school is in that game. High school sports are off the board. What’s next. NYSGC has been reviewing player props and same-game parlays since late 2025, and on Oct. 9, 2026 it advanced a rule that would bar sportsbooks and affiliates from using AI to personalize promotions. Neither change is final.

What happened to Resorts World Bet?

Resorts World Bet, the app tied to the Resorts World casino in Queens, stopped taking bets on June 16, 2025 and left New York on June 30, 2025. The company gave no public reason. It ranked last of the nine NY books by revenue at the time.
