BetRivers is run by Rush Street Interactive, the Chicago company behind Rivers Casino, and its land-based NY partner is Rivers Casino & Resort in Schenectady. It went live on Jan 8, 2022, the day New York’s mobile market opened.

Our score is 8.2 out of 10. It loses points for a small welcome bonus and a thin market share. It gets them back for payouts, live streaming and a loyalty program with a 1x playthrough.

BetRivers NY welcome bonus: Second Chance Bet up to $100

New York gets a smaller version of BetRivers’ national offer. In other states the Second Chance Bet runs up to $500. In NY it’s capped at $100.

The mechanics are simple. If your first bet loses, BetRivers returns the stake as a single bonus bet, up to $100. If it wins, you keep the cash winnings and get no bonus.

Claiming the Second Chance Bet

1. Download the BetRivers NY app or go to ny.betrivers.com while you’re physically in New York.
2. Register with your name, address, date of birth and the last 4 digits of your SSN. You must be 21+.
3. Deposit at least $10.
4. Place your first real-money bet at odds of -200 or longer. A $100 bet at -110 qualifies; a bet at -250 doesn’t.
5. If that bet loses, the bonus bet lands in your account. Use it within 30 days.

Who should take the $100 offer?

It suits a bettor who wants to place one real bet, at a normal size, with a cushion. It doesn’t suit someone chasing the biggest headline number: FanDuel and DraftKings both hand out $200 or more in bonus bets for $5 bets.

Remember the bonus bet math. A $100 bonus bet at +100 pays $100 in profit, not $200, because the stake isn’t returned.

Yankees to Sabres: BetRivers markets and the college rules

BetRivers covers all 10 major NY pro teams: the Yankees and Mets, Giants, Jets and Bills, Knicks and Nets, and the Rangers, Islanders and Sabres. Moneylines, spreads, totals, player props, futures and live lines run on every one of them.

Same-game parlays are the main event on football Sundays. SGP Quick Pick suggests compatible legs for you, mainly on NFL and college football, so a Bills spread, a Josh Allen passing line and a game total can be stacked in a few taps.

New York law limits college betting. You can’t bet on any game involving a New York college team, home or away, and college player props are banned outright, according to PML §1367 and NYSGC guidance. St. John’s or Syracuse games simply won’t appear on the board.

One more NY wrinkle: the NY State Gaming Commission has been reviewing player props and same-game parlays since November 2025. No ban was in place as of October 2026, but the menu could shrink.

A 4.9-star BetRivers app with live streams

The NY app scores 4.9 out of 5 on the App Store from about 51,000 ratings, and its listing names New York specifically. That puts it level with or above FanDuel and DraftKings, both at 4.8.

What earns the score is a quick bet slip, a clear live-betting screen and live streaming. BetRivers streams select events in-app, including NFL, ATP and WTA tennis, basketball and some soccer. To watch, you need to be logged in with a funded balance or an open bet on the event.

The Bonus Bank is a useful extra. It stores bonus money from iRush Rewards and lets you choose when to activate it, so a bonus doesn’t burn out before you want it.

The weak spot is Android. Third-party reviews flag crashes and lag at peak hours, and we couldn’t confirm a current Google Play rating.

RushPay and cash at Rivers Schenectady: BetRivers banking

BetRivers says “over 90% of withdrawal requests” are approved in real time, a system it calls RushPay. Approval isn’t the same as money in your account, but it removes the usual 24–72-hour review wait.

Deposits are instant and start at $10. Options are Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Play+, online banking, eCheck and VIP Preferred. You can also use RushCash to fund your account with cash at the Rivers Casino cage in Schenectady.

BetRivers iRush Rewards: 11 tiers and a 1x playthrough

iRush Rewards has 11 tiers and two kinds of points. Loyalty Level Points move you up the tiers. Bonus Store Points are spent in the Bonus Store on bonus money, scratch cards and wheel spins.

The selling point is the playthrough. Bonus money from the store carries a 1x wager requirement, so you bet it once and the winnings are yours. Many rival loyalty schemes pay rewards with longer strings attached.

Points accrue over a 6-month period, which suits a steady weekly bettor more than a once-a-season punter.

BetRivers by the numbers: 2.1% of the state’s handle

According to NY State Gaming Commission reports, BetRivers took $553.7 million in bets in calendar 2025 and kept $44.2 million in gross gaming revenue. That’s about 2.1% of the state’s $26.3 billion handle.

August 2026 was similar: $37.7 million in handle and $3.7 million in revenue, around 2.2% of the market. BetRivers sits 6th of the 8 live NY books by handle, behind FanDuel, DraftKings, Fanatics, BetMGM and Caesars and ahead of theScore Bet and Bally Bet.

What does that mean for you? BetRivers isn’t chasing scale with big bonuses. New York taxes sportsbook revenue at 51%, the highest rate in the country, and smaller operators feel it most. Resorts World Bet, which never passed 1% of the market, left the state in June 2025. BetRivers has held a steady 2% share and is still standing.

BetRivers vs. FanDuel and Caesars in NY

Against FanDuel Sportsbook NY, BetRivers loses on the welcome offer and on scale. FanDuel took $9.44 billion in NY bets in 2025, 17 times BetRivers’ total, and its current offer is “Get $350 in Bonus Bets When You Wager $5 for 7 Days.” BetRivers wins on bonus-money terms and its payout approvals.

Against Caesars Sportsbook NY, it’s closer. Caesars offers “Bet $1, Double Your Winnings 10x” with Promo Code CZRDYW, and Caesars Rewards pays out in hotel stays and dining. BetRivers is the better pick if you never set foot in a casino and just want quick cash-outs.
