Seneca’s mountain resort, 20 years on
Seneca Allegany opened on May 1, 2004, on the Seneca Nation’s Allegany Territory in Salamanca, according to the Associated Press. The permanent casino and hotel complex had its grand opening in March 2007, and a hotel tower added in 2012 brought the total to 413 rooms.
It is the most remote of Seneca’s three casinos, about 65 miles south of Buffalo, which is why the hotel matters. Skiing, golf and the village of Ellicottville are a short drive away.
1,600 slots and 30 tables in Salamanca
The casino lists “over 1,600 reel and video slot games” and “over 30 table games.” Expect blackjack, craps, roulette and Spanish 21, plus carnival games such as Three Card Poker, Mississippi Stud and Ultimate Texas Hold’em.

The Sports Lounge at Seneca Allegany: shortest counter hours
The Sports Lounge works like the other Seneca lounges, but its counter has the shortest weekday hours of the three:

The minimum bet is $1, betting is cash only, and parlays run up to 12 legs at a kiosk or 9 at the counter. Horse racing isn’t offered. BYOB (Bring Your Own Bet) lets you build a ticket on your phone and turn it into a QR code for the ticket writer to scan. Seneca’s #BETONBUFFALO menu covers Buffalo’s pro football, hockey and lacrosse teams. New York college teams are off the board under state law.
Why your betting app won’t work at Seneca Allegany
Seneca’s sportsbook page says plainly that mobile betting is not offered at the property. State-licensed apps also geofence tribal land. The sponsor memo for Senate bill S10470 notes that mobile platforms block “tribal jurisdictions.” Salamanca sits inside the Allegany Territory, so you may need to drive beyond the territory’s boundary before FanDuel, DraftKings or the others will take a bet. A 413-room Four Diamond hotel and spa
The hotel is rated AAA Four Diamond and has 413 rooms, including corner, end and center suites. Check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out at 11 a.m., and early check-in can be requested. A full-service spa and salon, an indoor pool and a fitness room round it out.
A renovated Seneca Café leads the dining lineup
The Seneca Café reopened in early 2026 after a $2.7 million renovation, according to Indian Gaming. Work started in December 2025 and took about three months. Seating went from 153 to 174 and a permanent breakfast buffet was added.

One card covers all three Seneca casinos. Each point played earns 1 Tier Credit and 1 Player Point. Tiers run Member, Player, Pro and Advantage over 12-month qualifying periods. Points can be redeemed for dining or slot play.
Free parking off I-86 in Salamanca
Parking is complimentary, valet included. Salamanca is on I-86 (the Southern Tier Expressway), about 65 miles south of Buffalo, and the casino is signposted from the highway.
What’s next for Seneca Allegany
Seneca Gaming says Allegany is part of a wider reinvestment that also covers Niagara and Buffalo Creek, according to Buffalo Toronto Public Media. Allegany’s hotel rooms have already had work similar to the $47 million Niagara room renovation that started in October 2026.
The unknown is the Seneca compact. In October 2026, Seneca said an agreement in principle with no revenue sharing existed. Gov. Kathy Hochul said “there is no agreement and negotiations are ongoing,” according to Spectrum News. Salamanca is one of the three cities that received a share of slot revenue under the old deal.
