Why it’s called Yellow Brick Road
L. Frank Baum, author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, was born in Chittenango, and the village has built its identity around Oz. The Oneida Indian Nation took the theme for the casino it opened here in June 2015, about 20 minutes east of Syracuse.
Today it trades as YBR Casino & Sports Book, one of three Oneida casinos alongside Turning Stone Resort Casino and Point Place Casino.
14 table games, new slots and keno
YBR lists 14 table games, including blackjack, craps, roulette, Let It Ride, Three Card Poker and Four Card Poker, and it recently added Blazing 7s. The casino says it has “more slots than ever” after a complete renovation but doesn’t publish a machine count.
There is no live poker room. For a 32-table room, drive about 20 miles east to Turning Stone.
An 8,800-square-foot sportsbook, now TS Sports
The sportsbook opened in September 2019 as The Lounge with Caesars Sports. At 8,800 square feet, it was more than 2,200 square feet bigger than any other New York sportsbook at launch, according to Sports Betting Operator. It came with a 32-foot video wall, 30 4K screens, stadium recliners and seven bookable VIP “Fan Caves.”
The Caesars name is gone. The Oneida Nation now runs betting in-house as TS Sports, and in August 2025 it signed Kambi to supply the platform at all three of its casinos, according to SBC Americas.

House rules worth knowing:
- No bets on New York college teams, and no player props on any college game
- You can build a bet on your phone and have the QR code scanned at the sportsbook counter
- If one leg of a parlay is canceled, that leg is voided and the odds are recalculated
- No pay-per-view fights, and no ESPN+ broadcasts on the screens
Tribal land rules: no app betting at YBR
YBR sits on Oneida Nation land. The sponsor memo for Senate bill S10470 says state-licensed mobile platforms geofence “tribal jurisdictions,” so expect FanDuel, DraftKings and the rest to block bets while you’re on property. Use the TS Sports desk or a kiosk. Once you’re off Nation land, any licensed app works for players 21+ located in New York; see our NY sportsbook rankings.
The East End and other places to eat at YBR
The renovation added more to do than gamble:
- The East End: bowling, virtual golf, darts, billiards and shuffleboard, open 7 days a week, plus new golf suites
- Brickhouse Kitchen: a gastropub with craft cocktails
- Wicked Good Pizza & Plates: pizza, Italian sandwiches and wings, with take-out
- Bar West: cocktails and chef-driven bar food
- The Foundry: an event space for private parties
No hotel on site, but Turning Stone is close
YBR has no hotel. The nearest Oneida rooms are at Turning Stone, where the 258-room Crescent hotel opened in June 2026. Syracuse hotels are about 20 minutes west.
One TS Rewards card for YBR, Turning Stone and Point Place
YBR uses the TS Rewards card, which earns and redeems at Turning Stone and Point Place too. Members also get a 5-cent-per-gallon gas discount, and the card works with the TS mobile app.
Twenty minutes from Syracuse on Route 5
The casino is on West Genesee Street (Route 5) in Chittenango, Madison County. Syracuse is about 20 minutes west and Turning Stone about 20 miles east. For questions, call (315) 366-9400.
